Range Wrestling Academy offers structured wrestling programs designed for athletes of all experience levels — from first-time youth wrestlers to experienced competitors.

Our programs emphasize fundamentals, mindset, discipline, and personal growth, using wrestling as a tool to develop confidence, resilience, and accountability.

Youth Wrestling Program

Ages: Typically 5–10

No prior wrestling experience required

Our Youth Wrestling Program introduces young athletes to wrestling in a safe, positive, and age-appropriate environment.

Athletes will learn:

  • Basic wrestling fundamentals

  • Balance, coordination, and body control

  • Listening skills and coachability

  • Confidence through effort and repetition

The focus at this stage is on learning, movement, and fun, while building a strong foundation for future development.

Middle & High School Development Program

Ages: Typically 11–18

Beginner to Advanced

This program supports athletes who want to grow in skill, discipline, and confidence — whether they are new to wrestling or returning competitors.

Training includes:

  • Technique development and position mastery

  • Strength, conditioning, and movement efficiency

  • Match awareness and situational wrestling

  • Mental toughness, composure, and accountability

Athletes are grouped and challenged appropriately based on age and experience.

Competitive Training & Tournament Preparation

For athletes who choose to compete

This program supports wrestlers preparing for local and regional tournaments.

Focus areas include:

  • Match preparation and live wrestling

  • Situational drilling and strategy

  • Goal setting and performance mindset

  • Sportsmanship and representing the academy

Competition is optional, and athletes are never pressured to compete before they are ready.

Community & Open Training -

Community training sessions provide additional mat time for approved athletes and emphasize:

  • Skill refinement

  • Consistency and work ethic

  • A team-first training environment

These sessions help reinforce wrestling as a lifelong sport and a positive community activity.

We also proudly host our local Law Enforcement Agencies for their private training sessions.

Does my child need wrestling experience to join?

No. Many athletes start with no prior experience. Our coaches teach fundamentals step-by-step and support athletes at their own pace.

Is wrestling safe for kids?

Safety is a top priority. Practices emphasize:

  • Proper technique and body positioning

  • Age-appropriate drills

  • Supervised live wrestling

  • Respect for teammates

Wrestling is a controlled sport that builds strength, coordination, and awareness when taught correctly.

How often are practices?

Practice frequency varies by age group and season. Most programs meet 2–3 times per week. Current schedules are posted on our Schedule page.

Do athletes have to compete in tournaments?

No. Competition is optional. Some athletes train for fitness, confidence, and skill development only. We support each family’s comfort level and goals.

What equipment does my child need?

To start, athletes need:

  • Athletic clothing (t-shirt, shorts, or sweats)

  • Wrestling shoes (recommended but not required initially)

We’ll guide families on additional gear as athletes progress.

Is this only for serious wrestlers?

Not at all. Our programs serve:

  • First-time athletes

  • Multi-sport kids

  • Competitive wrestlers

All athletes are expected to show effort, respect, and commitment.

How do I sign my child up?

Getting started is simple:
